Ribas, Gohar, Stevens Receive Awards
Jordi Roglans-Ribas was presented with an award for outstanding achievement from Andrew Bieniawski, NNSA Assistant Deputy Administrator for Global Threat Reduction during the RERTR-2011 International Meeting held in Santiago, Chile, October 24-27. The award recognizes his outstanding support of the Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors program and his long-standing commitment to the minimization of highly enriched uranium in civilian applications.
Yousry Gohar and John Stevens were presented with awards by Ken Sheely, NNSA Associate Assistant Deputy Administrator for Global Threat Reduction, during a visit to Argonne in December. Yousry was recognized for his outstanding contributions to national and global security. His exceptional technical expertise and leadership on the design of the Neutron Source Facility in Kharkiv, Ukraine, has greatly contributed to the Global Threat Reduction Initiative’s effort to secure and eliminate vulnerable nuclear material. John Stevens was recognized for his exemplary technical and project leadership of conversion efforts for U.S. high performance research reactors and European high flux research reactor fuel qualification activities.
