Argonne's Seth Snyder named president of Council for Chemical Research

Recently the Council for Chemical Research (CCR) announced Argonne's Seth Snyder as its new president.
The CCR Board of Directors appointed Snyder, section leader and immediate past chairman of CCR, to serve as president of CCR in 2011. Snyder replaces Susan Butts, who served as interim president after the retirement of Hratch Semerjian.
Snyder has been active within CCR since 1998 and immediately began serving on various committees and task forces. He was voted onto the CCR Governing Board in 2006, served as 2nd vice chair in 2008 and chair in 2010.
As CCR President, Snyder will work to communicate the CCR mission to all audiences, actively engage with CCR members to support their participation and grow and expand the organization in order to achieve a stronger voice promoting CCR's mission and advance the chemical enterprise.
