Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  To apply engineering, vulnerability assessment, and systems and interdependencies analyses techniques to study national-, regional-, and local-level critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR), particularly the Telecommunications Sector, for the Infrastructure Assurance Center (IAC). This includes examining protection, prevention, response, and recovery technologies and strategies and developing modeling and simulation tools and risk analysis methods to meet homeland security and other Federal agencies objectives.
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. Comprehensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry, its components, and operational characteristics. 2. Comprehensive knowledge of systems connectivity and infrastructure interdependencies to support vulnerability assessment and systems analysis. 3. Comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure interdependencies modeling and simulation approaches and applies solutions.
1. Considerable skill in performing infrastructure interdependencies modeling and simulation activities and consequence assessments using infrastructure data sources and database solutions, as appropriate; interpreting analytical results, with synthesis to resolve issues; applying analytical approaches and techniques; and documenting results of analytical activities. 2. Considerable skill in written and oral communication. 3. Considerable skill in effectively contributing to team effort. 4. Considerable skill in effectively producing end results through self-motivated efforts.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance. Ph.D. and 2-5 years experience/equivalent Master's Degree and 4-7 years of experience/equivalent Bachelor's Degree and 9-11 years experience/equivalent Additional Posting Information The level at which an applicant will be hired will be dependent upon their qualifications and experience.
