Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  With mentoring, conducts fundamental research in synthesis and characterization of advanced electrolyte materials for lithium-sulfur batteries. Performs electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries. Characterizes the electrolyte and electrode materials using spectroscopic and related methods.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Considerable knowledge of organic synthesis and electrochemistry is required.
  Good
Good skills in data processing, evaluation, and interpretation of experimental data. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  Some
Some experience in silicon chemistry and lithium-ion-related materials research is a plus.
  Other
This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in organic or organometallic chemistry at the Ph.D. degree level with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
