Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  With mentoring, conducts goal-oriented research on advanced lithium-based battery systems. Contributes by assisting in the characterization of materials to enhance life, performance, and safety of cells and batteries. Elucidates and solves chemical, electrochemical, and materials problems related to cell and battery development.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Considerable knowledge of the experimental study of materials. Considerable skills in written and oral communication.
  Good
Good knowledge of analytical instrumentation related to materials characterization. Good skills in devising, performing, and evaluating chemical and electrochemical experiments. Good skills in the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  Other
This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in chemistry, materials science, or related discipline at the Ph.D. degree level with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
