Basic Purpose |
| |
Draws on knowledge of high performance computational science to introduce new techniques that substantially improve the performance or range of science and engineering that can be addressed by petascale science applications. Works closely with multi-disciplinary ALCF teams and science project teams to address challenges of high-performance science and engineering applications. May partner with other petascale centers or tool development efforts to address common challenges. |

Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
| |
Considerable Considerable knowledge of high performance computational science, particularly in one or more of these fields: computational biology, chemistry, earth science, engineering, materials science, nuclear energy, physics, renewable energy, energy science, mathematics.

Good Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
Good skill in the solution of computational science problems using scalable parallel computers and large data systems.
Good knowledge of programming languages and MPI.
Good collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other labs, universities, supercomputer centers, and industry.
