Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Performs basic research in mathematics and computer science, and participates in the conception and implementation of the division`s research programs focusing on exascale computing and programming models. The incumbent will conduct research of partitioned data, partitioned control models that provide a global name space, control of communication and communication driven scheduling.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Comprehensive
Comprehensive knowledge of advanced scientific computing and of programming models for extreme scale computing.
  Considerable
Considerable experience in the following areas: parallel computing, parallel numerical algorithms, compilers and runtime Considerable skill in the implementation of libraries and algorithms for HPC Considerable collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other laboratories and universities. Considerable ability to develop, enhance, and support open source tools as a delivery vehicle for developed computational tools and techniques. Considerable independent judgment, the ability to abstract from specific problems to general solutions.
  Good
Good experience and skills in interdisciplinary research involving mathematicians, computer scientists, and discipline scientists. Good ability to provide project leadership and generate outside funding for research. Good growth potential.
  Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years work experience, or Master's Degree and 3+ years work experience, or Doctorate and 0 years or their equivalents
