Basic Purpose |
| |
Conceive, initiate, develop, collaborate, and lead both basic and applied research projects in wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and power device technologies including: switches, non-laser diodes, laser diodes, solar cells, converters, communications, and LEDs. Collaborate to develop new semiconductor materials and process technologies that enable cutting-edge power electronics such as high-power converters for electric utility and transportation applications |

| |
Considerable Considerable knowledge and experience in solid-state energy conversion and power management.
Considerable knowledge in power semiconductor materials and devices.
Considerable knowledge of advanced computational methods for modeling high-power switches and devices.
Considerable knowledge of semiconductor materials and processing. Considerable knowledge of power device technology.
Considerable oral and written communication skills (including proposals, papers, and reports).
Considerable skills in planning, scheduling, monitoring, project management, problem solving, and leading project staff to achieve the desired results.
Considerable skills in working with a diverse research staff to develop solid-state high-power materials and devices.
