Basic Purpose |
| |
The successful candidate will work with a team at Argonne National Laboratory and University of Chicago to develop methods for efficient runtime systems in heterogeneous and hierarchical high-end supercomputing systems. This will include research in heterogeneous accelerator and hierarchical environments, light-weight data movement frameworks, fault tolerant and resilient runtime systems, and other advanced architectures. The incumbent will also work with large-scale parallel and distributed applications from various disciplines to understand their requirements and apply this research to application domains. The incumbent will participate at all the stages of the design and implementation of the resulting methods from prototyping to the development and deployment in a high performance computing environment. |

Comprehensive Comprehensive knowledge in C/C++ programming under Unix.
Comprehensive experience and knowledge in technologies such as MPI, OpenMP, and GPU programming models
Comprehension of resilience and fault tolerance for HPC platforms.

Considerable Considerable expertise in parallel programming, multi-core systems, and scientific application codes.
Considerable expertise to create high-quality software and ability to program with various languages such as shell, Perl, and Python.
Considerable experience and skills in interdisciplinary research involving computer scientists, and other scientists.

Good Good collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other divisions, laboratories, and universities.
Good self-motivation to get involved and participate in the project team`s research, and balance that against intense code development and optimization for next-generation networks.
