Basic Purpose |
| |
Design, modify, test, and maintain interlock and instrumentation systems for particle accelerator high-power radio frequency hardware installations. Provide operations engineering support to rf interlock and instrumentation systems for Linac, Par, Booster, Storage Ring, and SPX rf systems. Provide engineering support to SPX rf system hardware installation activities. Provide PLC programming capability to the RF Group. Provide new engineering ideas to improve existing interlock and instrumentation systems and to enhance the design of future rf system hardware and systems. |

Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
| |
Considerable Considerable knowledge of component-level electrical and electronic design, signal conditioning, process control instrumentation, and installation techniques for reliable interlock and instrumentation system operation. Considerable knowledge of PLC programming and hardware interface design. Considerable demonstrated knowledge of fundamental electrical and electronic engineering principles. |

Good Good knowledge of single and polyphase ac power distribution.
Good knowledge and demonstration of effective oral and written communication skills.
Good knowledge of high-power rf amplifier interlock systems and instrumentation is a plus.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years work experience, or Master's Degree and 5+ years work experience, or Doctorate and 4+ years or their equivalents |
