Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Under guidance from a supervisor, develop and conduct research to further the understanding of fundamental electrochemical properties of electrochemical energy storage systems. The incumbent will work closely in the highly collaborative environment of the North Eastern Center for Chemical Energy Storage, Energy Frontier Research Center (NECCES-EFRC). The appointee will be responsible for developing and conducting in-situ synchrotron experiments the mechanism of chemical energy storage in novel systems. Responsible for reporting relevant results in an appropriate form.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Knowledge of experimental synchrotron radiation physics, scattering, spectroscopy and related instrumentation, methods, and applications. Knowledge of materials science and nanoscience. Knowledge of materials and technology for chemical energy storage. Skill in designing and implementing precision instrumentation. Skill in understanding abstract concepts and synthesizing results within the experimental and theoretical framework. Skill in written and oral communication.

A PhD in chemistry or related fields.
