Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Conducts basic research in mathematics and/or computer science with emphasis on computational biology programs and large-scale genomics problems. Builds computational tools and develops methods for the solution of computational science problems on distributed and/or scalable parallel computers.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Considerable knowledge of advanced scientific computing. Considerable knowledge of computational biology, with emphasis on genomic and metagenomic sequence analysis. Considerable experience with implementation and analysis of large-scale biological model and experience with sequence data assembly. Considerable collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other divisions and external collaborators; excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  Good
Good ability to provide insights into problems requiring experience in both high performance computing and systems biology. Good experience with parallel programming algorithms. Good growth potential.
  Other
Candidate must have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, computer science, or related engineering or physics discipline.
