Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  The appointee will conduct computational modeling and simulation of soft matter systems with the emphasis on the dynamics of charged polymers in nanofluidic channels. Substantial focus will be placed on the development of highly-efficient algorithms utilizing modern hardware architectures in order to accelerate computation of long-range forces and the effects of confined geometries, finite-size effects and fluctuations. The appointee will work as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary research team and will collaborate with materials scientists and computational scientists at Argonne and University of Chicago
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Comprehensive knowledge of C/C++ programming under Unix/Linux. Comprehensive knowledge of the finite-element method (FEM).
Considerable knowledge of numerical modeling of soft matter systems, nanofluid dynamics, long-range interactions, statistical mechanics. Considerable understanding of modern computer architectures and their utilization in computational modeling of physical systems.
Good collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other laboratories and universities. Good self-motivation to solve problems and grow professionally. Good written and oral communication skills.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, applied mathematics or a related discipline with expertise in scientific computing. Candidates should have the ability to create, maintain, and support high-quality software.
